The Dominican Republic is a country rich in tourism, history and culture that allows and invites citizens from every corner of the world to enjoy themselves, grow, invest and do business.
For citizens of the European Community, a Tourist Visa is not required for tourist entry into the Dominican Republic. The person must travel with a passport with residual validity for the entire duration of the stay (i.e. as long as it is valid at the time of entry and exit in the DR), and a return ticket which must not exceed a stay of more than sixty (60) days.
Any citizen (regardless of their nationality) legally residing in any European Union country, or holding a valid visa to enter the United States or Canada, may travel visa-free to the Dominican Republic. They must travel with the Residence Permit issued by the European Community country of residence (or the Visa in the case of US/Canadian visas) and the Passport of their country of citizenship, both documents must have residual validity for the entire duration of the stay (i.e. as long as it is valid at the time of entry and exit in the DR). *From April 25, 2018, the Tourist Card is included in all airline tickets issued outside the Dominican Republic, although all passengers entering the Dominican Republic by air, with airline tickets purchased before that date, must present the corresponding Tourist Card.
***ATTENTION: foreign citizens can remain in the Dominican Republic as a tourist for a maximum period of thirty (30) days, being able to request an extension/extension of thirty (30) days more by contacting the migration office of the Dominican Republic for a total period of sixty (60) days.
