The investor who is thinking of investing in this country must be very clear about the opportunity that resort properties in the Caribbean represent.
Today’s tourists prefer to stay in a resort, which is accommodation located in a natural enclave, where there are many leisure activities without having to leave the premises, and it can be located near the beach, in the mountains, or in a closer area.

Puerto Plata, is one of the most famous Dominican tourist destinations in the world. Puerto Plata, located about 200 km from Santo Domingo, but well connected to the capital of the Dominican Republic, is the true “pearl” of the north coast of the country. The town stands in the middle of a natural bay, bathed by the crystal clear Caribbean sea and characterized by the presence of some of the most beautiful beaches in the whole country. There are many tourists who fly to Santo Domingo, where the most important international airport in the Dominican Republic is located, and then reach Puerto Plata by car, jeep or bus. Puerto Plata is known for resorts such as Playa Dorada and Costa Dorada, which is located east of San Felipe de Puerto Plata. Tourist accommodation is very high: there are over 100,000 beds in the city’s hotels. CC-BY photo by KelvisDorville Its 100 km of wonderful and uninterrupted coastline have made Puerto Plata one of the best known and most renowned tourist destinations in the entire Caribbean. The area is also called the “Amber Coast”, because it is very rich in plant fossil resin. This characteristic has been one of the constants in the history of Puerto Plata, so much so that the city hosts one of the most important museums in the world dedicated to this material, namely the Puerto Plata Amber Museum.
